About Dr McHugh

MBBS (SYD), BDS (LOND), BSC (HONS), LDS, RCS (ENG & EDIN), FFDRCSI, FACCS

Originally from England, I began my career with a Science degree at Sussex University in England, then a degree in Dentistry in the London Hospital Medical College at the University of London.  I also completed diplomas at the Royal College of Surgeons England and the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

I arrived in Australia in 1999 to study Medicine at the University of Sydney, and returned to Ireland to complete fellowships in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, before migrating to Australia permanently.

My experience working with patients requiring facial reconstruction due to injuries and deformities inspired me to complete a fellowship in cosmetic surgery with the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery.

Throughout my career, I have performed a range of complex humanitarian surgeries overseas as a Surgeon Commander with the Royal Australian Navy.

As a cosmetic surgeon, I take very seriously my role in patients’ lives. My complementary specialisations in Oral, Maxillofacial and Cosmetic surgery enables me to deliver a natural looking result through over 20 years of experience working with both the superficial layers and the muscular structure of the face and body.

This gives my patients confidence that their surgery will deliver the result they seek, with a healthy, natural look.
